FAQ

Answers to common questions about our studio planning, equipment, acoustics and workflow work.

Frequently asked questions

Below are the questions we hear most from studio managers and production teams. If yours is not covered, the contact page is the quickest way to ask us directly.

What kinds of studios do you work on?

We work on live television studios used for news programmes, interviews and multi-camera shows. That includes new builds, refits of existing rooms and smaller studios that need to be made more reliable. Each project starts with a conversation about what the studio is used for, who operates it and what is currently going wrong.

Can you work with the equipment we already own?

Yes. We often integrate existing vision mixers, routing, monitoring and intercom with new additions. Before recommending any replacement we test what you have and tell you honestly where it is sound and where it is a risk. We only suggest new equipment when it solves a problem you actually have.

Do you supply the equipment as well as installing it?

We specify the equipment and install and test it, and we can advise on where to buy it. The details depend on the project and are set out in the written quotation. If you prefer to buy through your own suppliers, we will specify to fit that arrangement.

How do you approach acoustic problems in a studio?

Priya measures the room first, recording reverberation and background noise at the positions where people speak. Treatment is recommended from those measurements rather than guesswork. We explain the options, including materials and isolation, so you can decide what suits your budget and the way the room is used.

What does a workflow review involve?

Daniel observes or discusses how your gallery runs, then reads your signal paths, run-of-show documents and fallback plans. You receive a written report listing risks in priority order, with practical fixes. It is intended to be used by your crew, not filed away.

Do you train our crew on the setups you design?

Callum and the team can run hands-on sessions so your crew can rebuild lighting and camera layouts repeatably. We leave written notes and diagrams for the setups we create. The aim is that your own people can run the studio confidently without needing us on every shoot.

Where are you based and do you travel?

We are based at 14 Kings Road Business Yard, Reading, and work with studios across the UK. Site visits are part of most projects because measuring and testing in the room itself matters. Travel arrangements are agreed when we write the quotation.

How do I start a project with you?

Use the contact form or call 0118 565 5855 and tell us about your studio and what you want to achieve. We will reply to discuss the work and, where it makes sense, send a written quotation. Nothing is ordered or paid for through this website.
