Services

Five areas of live studio work, from equipment integration to gallery procedures, planned and delivered by one Reading team.

What we do

Five services that cover a live studio from floor to gallery

factolio plans and fits out live television studios for news programmes, interviews and live shows. Our work covers equipment integration, camera setup, acoustics, lighting and workflow review. Each can be commissioned alone, or combined when a studio is being built or reworked.

Five services that cover a live studio from floor to gallery
  • Studio Equipment Integration

We specify, install and test vision mixers, routing, monitoring and intercom so the whole studio works as one system.

  • Camera Setup and Technique

Camera positioning, robotic and pedestal rigs, and shot planning for news desks, interviews and multi-camera live shows.

  • Acoustic Optimisation

Measurement and treatment of studio rooms to control reverb and noise, giving clean dialogue for broadcast.

  • Lighting Design and Rigging

Lighting plots, LED fixture selection and grid rigging that flatter presenters and keep colour consistent on camera.

  • Live Production Workflow Review

A written review of your gallery procedures, signal paths and fallback plans, with practical fixes for on-air reliability.

Tell us what the studio produces and what currently goes wrong. We scope the work from that conversation and confirm it in writing before anything begins.

In detail

Studio Equipment Integration

  1. Specification

We list what the studio needs for its formats and crew size, checking each item against the others so signal formats, control protocols and rack space agree before anything is bought.

  2. Installation

Cabling, racks and routing are installed and labelled so a new engineer can trace any signal. We work around your transmission schedule where the studio is still in use.

  3. Monitoring and intercom

Multiviewers, confidence monitors and talkback are set up for each role in the gallery, so directors, vision mixers and audio operators hear and see what they need.

  4. Testing and handover

We test full signal paths, switch to backup routes and record the results. You receive drawings and a short operating guide for your own crew.

How we work

From first enquiry to a studio that stays on air

Every engagement follows the same order, whichever service is involved. We listen, survey the room, propose in writing, carry out the work and then hand it over properly. Nothing is started until the scope has been agreed with you.

  1. Enquiry and brief

You describe the studio, the programmes it carries and the problems you see. We ask about crew size, formats and any fixed transmission times, then say plainly whether we are the right people for the job.

  2. Site survey

We visit the studio, look at the room, the equipment and the way the crew works. For acoustics we measure; for lighting and cameras we check positions and the grid; for workflow we sit in the gallery.

  3. Written proposal

We set out what we would do, what it includes, what we would leave alone and what could change the cost. You can ask us to adjust the scope before agreeing to anything.

  4. Delivery on site

The work is carried out in agreed stages, planned around your schedule where possible. Installation, rigging and treatment are tested as they are completed, not left to the end.

  5. Handover and review

We walk your crew through the finished setup, hand over drawings and procedures, and note anything to watch. You can contact us afterwards if something behaves differently on air.

Talk to us

Send an enquiry through the contact page describing the studio and the service you have in mind. We reply with questions and, once the scope is clear, a written quotation.
